Most Stardew Valley crops are seasonal. A season lasts 28 days, and crops that do not grow in the next season normally wither when the season changes.
Multi-season exceptions
The official wiki lists Ancient Fruit, Coffee Bean, Corn, Sunflower and Wheat among crops that can continue across their specified seasons.
Planning checklist
- Count remaining days before planting.
- Check whether the crop regrows after harvest.
- Leave time for the final harvest before the season changes.
- Use multi-season crops when they fit a longer planting plan.
