A sorcery-focused character needs more than raw Intelligence. FP management, survivability, casting tools, spell selection and positioning all determine whether the build feels comfortable in real encounters.
Core priorities
- Intelligence: meet spell and staff requirements first, then invest further when it improves the setup you use.
- Mind: increase FP only enough to support your normal spell rotation without wasting too many levels.
- Vigor: do not neglect health just because you intend to fight at range.
- Endurance: keep enough stamina and equipment load for casting, dodging and your chosen armor.
Spell selection
Carry spells for different jobs instead of filling every slot with variations of the same attack. A useful loadout normally needs reliable general damage plus one or two options for range, groups, stagger or unusual enemy behavior.
FP economy
If you regularly run out of FP before an encounter ends, first ask whether the problem is Mind, flask allocation or inefficient spell choice. Adding levels is not always the best fix.
Boss adjustment
Against aggressive bosses, faster casting and safer positioning can matter more than maximum damage per cast. Against slower targets, longer cast times may be easier to use.
